This family-run wine estate is one of the oldest in the region, founded back in 1688. Simonsig is best known for its Kaapse Vonkel – an outstanding Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) sparkling wine, valued for its high quality and elegant character.
The wine tastings here are relaxed yet stylish – perfect for a quiet day in nature. My absolute favourite is the 2021 Chenin Blanc vintage, closely followed by the Kaapse Vonkel MCC.
