Hop on a bike and circle the coast of Stanley Park

Stanley Park is Vancouver’s green heart and a place full of contrasts – from dense forests to spectacular views of the Pacific and the city skyline. Surrounded by ancient cedars and Douglas firs, the park offers an impressive backdrop for a bike ride along the famous waterfront promenade, the Seawall.

The well-developed cycle path takes you past highlights such as impressive totem poles and a distinctive rock, Siwash Rock, which rises proudly out of the water. With a bit of luck you’ll spot otters in the water or a bald eagle circling above the treetops. Stanley Park is currently home to five eagle pairs that nest here. In autumn the eagles leave the park to catch salmon in the rivers.

You can hire bikes near the park entrance. Thanks to the almost flat route, you can enjoy the tour at a relaxed pace. The waterfront promenade is 9.7 kilometres long and you should allow 1–2 hours. Make sure you ride the promenade in an anti-clockwise direction.
