Watch the sunset at English Bay

When the sun slowly sinks behind the Pacific and bathes the sky in warm orange and pink tones, there is hardly a better place in Vancouver than English Bay Beach. Located right on the lively West End promenade, this city beach offers a breathtaking view of the sea, the Coast Mountains and the passing sailing boats. The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to round off a day full of experiences.

Sit down on one of the many benches or directly in the soft sand and watch the water sparkle in the last rays of sunshine. In summer the beach fills up with locals and travellers who enjoy the perfect sundowner with picnic blankets, snacks and cold drinks. Right on the promenade you will find cosy cafés and restaurants – ideal for ending the evening with a cocktail or a portion of fish and chips.

It’s best to arrive an hour before sunset to secure a good spot. If you want to be active beforehand, you can explore Stanley Park or stroll along the Seawall.
