Experience the mystical silence of the coastal rainforest

Two short trails lead through the coastal rainforest. Choose one of the paths or simply decide to walk both. Stop every now and then and take in the immense size of the trees. Fallen trees are deliberately left where they are so that tiny organisms can transform them back into valuable energy for the plants.

The path leads through a spectacular rainforest with ancient trees and a stream that winds its way through the forest. The trail is divided into two sections: Route A and Route B.

Route A starts on the east side of the highway and requires you to cross the road from the car park. Once on the other side, the path leads along a wooden boardwalk deeper into the forest. The path is well signposted and takes you past old trees and ferns. One of the most remarkable trees on this path is a majestic giant, almost twice as thick as the surrounding trees. As you continue, you reach a junction where you can go either left or right. Going left, you see a stream winding its way through the forest. Choosing the path to the right, you walk through an area where trees and rocks come together in spectacular formations.

Route B starts on the west side of the highway and is shorter than Route A. The path leads through younger forest which is less dense but still well worth seeing. This path is also well signposted and offers spectacular views of the forest and the stream that winds its way through it.
