Treat yourself to fresh muffins as a small reward on safari

Between Malelane and Skukuza lies Afsaal Picnic Site, a popular stop in the southern Kruger National Park. Here you can take a proper break before you head out again in search of wildlife. The relaxed atmosphere under shady trees makes this place more than just a functional rest stop.

Afsaal offers a good selection of freshly baked muffins, from sweet versions to ones with seeds and grains. There are also tarts and croissants, which you can either enjoy straight away at the shady seating areas or pack up for later. In addition to the snack kiosk there are also hearty dishes available, and clean toilets round off the facilities.

The site is not fenced, which means you are still right in the bush here. Stay alert and enjoy a short break before continuing your safari through the Kruger.
