Experience the silence of the Kalahari on a relaxing break

Enjoy a peaceful lunch break at Tau Pan, right in the remote part of the Kalahari. Here you can have a quiet picnic and let the vastness of the landscape sink in. Thanks to the open surroundings you have a good overview and can spot predators such as the resident lion pride early, while you find shade under a lone tree on the edge of the pan.

Tau Pan is a wide pan surrounded by short grasslands and scattered trees. Here you see Springbok moving across the pan and jackals resting in the shade of the trees.

It’s best to plan your break around midday. As the campsites are a bit further away, as a self-driver you will usually arrive in the course of the late morning or before noon and have plenty of time to enjoy this typical Kalahari landscape.
