Experience the cloud forest along six hanging bridges

On this circular walk between ancient treetops and moss-covered branches you cross Monteverde’s cloud forest on six wide-spanning hanging bridges. With every step you change your perspective: sometimes you walk along low-lying paths through mixed forest, then you seem to float weightlessly 50 metres above the forest floor. Especially in the early morning hours you can hear emerald and keel-billed toucans here; with a bit of luck you’ll see howler monkeys moving between the giant trees.

The 2.5 kilometre tour starts in Treetopia Park about seven kilometres outside Santa Elena. The route is easy to moderate and partly wheelchair accessible, and suitable for children from five years. You explore independently with a map and safety briefing, but you can also book an experienced guide. Start times are every full hour from 7am to 3pm. Depending on your pace, the tour takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours – in any weather except thunderstorms.
